Are email programs such as gmail and yahoo mail secure?

I worry that someone will be able to access my calendar, contacts, notes, etc. How secure is this type of email program versus using Outlook (PC) or Entourage (Mac) that resides on your computer? I have firewalls that help secure those programs from hackers but I worry about information floating around in cyberspace.

For the most part, third party or web based mail clients are just as safe as Outlook or Outlook Express, etc. It's all about what you do and do not click on.
Reply:Unless you are storing government secrets, it's safe enough. Also, hackers wouldn't go though all of the trouble of hacking into your account just for a couple of addresses. You're not that important.
