Is there a shareware program that will take out all of those >>>quote carrots in a forwarded email?

Occasionally I need to forward emails that have been already forwarded one or more times. I am looking for some simple way to get rid of all of those quote marks such as %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;. I hate receiving emails containing them and hate sending emails contianing them as well. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

BBEdit for the mac will do this pretty easily. It's a programmer's text editor, and can remove prefixes and suffixes from lines of text.

If you are running Mac OSX or Linux you could write a little script to do this using command line tools such as sed.

Regardless of platform, you could certainly do this in perl.
