Do netbooks/mini-laptops come with an email program like Outlook, or do I have to buy that separately?

I am looking into buying a netbook/mini-laptop. I primarily want to use it for email and web-surfing, but I need to find one that has some kind of email program such as Outlook or Entourage - so I can get my emails to come right onto my computer vs. having to check for them routinely online. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

If you buy one with XP, it will come with Outlook Express. Outlook and Entourage are part of MS Office for Windows and Mac respectively which is a paid program.





You can also download free ones like Eudora and Thunderbird.





Linux netbook will come with a decent email client specific to what type of linux the netbook uses.
Reply:well you get Outlook with windows anyway come what may, but you are playing a dangerous game downloading email onto your computer, for the major part 97% of viruses are sent through e-mails. for security sake it is better to read your mail on the web server delete the garbage then download what you need,, manually





Better to be safe than sorry, when there is something like 10,000 viruses, spyware malware being produced daily, as was reported on 2nd April 2009 some are bound to get through the net

Reply:The netbook pictured in the link that you provided is running XP Home. It comes with Outlook Express. If you want "Outlook" which is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, and would have to be purchased separately.
Reply:This netbook does not have it preinstalled, and if it is it would be a trial.





Although you could always install an e-mail programs afterwards.
Reply:You will have to buy any MS products after a trial period of what comes loaded on the unit
