Good Luck to You.

I can't get my email program to open at all. Internet explorer says can't be displayed.?

It can happen if Your Internet explorer saves manual settings and won't accept all cookies. I hope email means you are talking about yahoomail online and not offline mail client like outlook express etc.

Just go to "tools" in the top menu bar of your browser and click internet options from there, now go to privacy and check that the privacy bar is set to medium. If its not already then set it to medium.

Now in the same "internet options", click on advanced and there you will find a button " Reset web settings ", it will delete temporary files and disable all add-ons and reset all the changed settings. Now reboot and check if it works.

If its not working then move to the same internet options, go to connections, click on settings ( for ur internet connection). You will see an option there - automatically detect settings, it wud be unchecked before but u have to check the box now. Save the configuration by clicking on apply and ok. Reboot and see if its working now.

If still not working then some software that u might have installed like a download manager has changed ur browser settings, then u will have to install windows again.

have been using yahoo for a number of years. never faced any such problem. Please get your computer checked by a comp engineer or the other probel cound be that your broadband/dial up connection is not working properly. Such a response normally comes when your connection is not good.
Reply:Since you've changed to this new system, I go into my mail, and come up with a blank page. Even though it states that I have

messages in.

Thank you.
Reply:It's because of network problem.
Reply:I just had the same problem and rebooted. I couldn't get in to my e-mail without it freezing up and any screen that did come up wouldn't close. I'm not sure what's up but Yahoo does seem to be having more problems lately. Try rebooting and see if that resolves your issue.

How to program my email to give me a sound when I receive a message when off line.?

Incredimail, a downloadable freeware program, will do this, as long as you have the program running in the background. You have to be "on line" in terms of your email program to receive such a notification, but you don't have to be "on line" in terms of the Internet or your browser. I use Incredimail all the time, as it has many features that basic programs like Outlook Express don't. Go to their website and check it out - www.incredimail.com.

Cute or Stylish Email Notification Program?

Im intersted in a program where once an email is received, a cute or fancy type of window or some thing pops out and notify you along with a clean email sound effect to remind you. Like the ones you see in the movies and in some korean movies too. Anyone know such program? I know many, but non really fits my taste which is what I just describe above.

What's a good email program like IncrediMail?

I like IncrediMail, but for some reason I can't get it to send mail from my webmail address. I need something that'll do that.

OR if you know how to fix my webmail problem that'd be great :)
What's a good email program like IncrediMail?
It's hard to say what exactly the problem is, but I'm going to take a stab at it based on best guess.

Some assumptions:

1) You have Incredimail set up to read and send from both your webmail account and your ISP email account.

2) You can read and send on your ISP email account, but are unable to send on your webmail account.

3) Your webmail account does not have its own SMTP setup options.

4) You have tried setting up the webmail account to send mail using the SMTP settings for the ISP email account, and it won't go.

If all these are correct, then your problem is that your ISP does not relay SMTP; in other words, your ISP's SMTP server is seeing a piece of mail come through that does not have a return address from that ISP, and is refusing it.

You need to contact your ISP and see if there is a way to log on to their SMTP server with session authentication. If the server has a way to know that you are an actual subscriber, it may allow you to send messages with a reply-to that is not one of their addresses.

If my assumptions above are NOT correct, then you should try those things first. :)

Edit: if you are unable to contact your webmail's SMTP server through your current connection, it could be that the ISP is blocking that traffic. Try changing the SMTP settings so that the webmail outbound mail goes through the ISP's SMTP server instead. Use session authentication if it is available.

And don't forget to check your Bronfenbrenner diagram, I posted a new one for you.
Reply:Well, I really like Mozilla Thunderbird. And it's free too.

Did you allow in your mail browser the POP settings? For example in Yahoo you have to go to options, mail options, POP settings and then hook the first choice. Otherwise your mail browser will not allow you to access it from any other program.

Cannot change default email program to yahoo in IE7 no pull-down choice available?

I have tried the IE option window in the programs' tab and did not find Yahoo as an option. While trying to find a solution I read about having to change the registry, however they did not offer the specifics. Does anyone know how to do it? thanks
Cannot change default email program to yahoo in IE7 no pull-down choice available?
To make Yahoo! Mail the default email application for your computer, click Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Programs tab %26gt; under E-mail click the down arrow and select Yahoo! Mail %26gt; click Apply and OK. If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as a default email option, adding one of Yahoo鈥檚 free downloads to your computer, Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Music, or Yahoo! Toolbar will add Yahoo! Mail to the list of email options, and if you don't want them, uninstall them ( it will leave Yahoo! as an email option ), or just follow the directions below.

Using Internet Explorer just click "Continue" on the link below to download a small 60K file that will enable Yahoo! Mail to be the default email application for your computer. Whenever you click on an email address on any web page or in any computer program, Yahoo! Mail will open for you in a new window.

If Internet Explorer displays a yellow security bar at the top, click on it and select Install ActiveX Control from the menu.

If a security warning comes up with Yahoo! Inc. as the publisher, click Install.

Now you can click on an email address anywhere and your computer will automatically open up Yahoo! Mail for you.

You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications.

Requirements:

Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / Vista

Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher

Looking for Customer Email Program with Scheduling?

I own a small business that sells hot tubs %26amp; hot tub chemicals to customers. I am looking for an email program that can email my customers when it is time to change their filters, time to drain thair spa, etc.

For example, if a customer, Jane buys a hot tub from us in November I would like the program to email her every 3 Months and tell her it's time to drain her spa. I would also like it to email her every November to remind her to come buy a new hot tub filter.

Any suggestions???

Thanks!
Looking for Customer Email Program with Scheduling?
autoresponder is the best way to do this. Just ask your customer to fill up your autoresponder form with their primary email address. There are many free autoresponder you can use on the net. You can use your autoresponder to send your follow-up emails or reminder emails according to the time you have set.

Is there an email program that will let a blocked sender know they are blocked from the recipient?

I want senders to know they are on my blocked list when I put them there, otherwise, the satisfaction is still theirs (like, "ha - she can't think of a good comeback, I guess I won"). Anyone know of an email provider that lets people know they've been blocked? I would be willing to pay this service.
Is there an email program that will let a blocked sender know they are blocked from the recipient?
Yes, every email account has one. It's called the compose key. You email those that you dispise, and tell them that their emails will never be opened because you hate their guts! They'll understand your disdain.

What is the pc program that enable someone to know email password?

You mean programs that can hack passwords?

well email domains are protected very well and only Good programmers can make their way to the passwords by creating their own programs, knowing the weaknesses of these sites. you need a lot of reading and learning in the programming area first. And mostly hackers are selfish - they probably won't put the programs they've used anywhere, and expecting them to be free is just ridiculous. There are programs that do break into skype accounts but dunno if that's what ur asking for.

Hope i helped.

Suggestions on email program and anti-virus app combo.......?

I currently use Microsoft Outlook Web Access for my email (I have a personal account setup by a friend) along with Avast v4.7 Home version

I'm getting enough spam that I'm considering trying out Thunderbird. The Outlook Web Access doesn't do a good job of that. I'm also thinking about switching to AntiVir since I hear it has a higher detection rate than Avast.

Thunderbird is a local program like Outlook as opposed to a web access one like Yahoo Mail. AntiVir on the otherhand, does NOT scan email from programs like Outlook, and what I can also assume Thunderbird neither.

It seems like I can choose to switch one or the other but not both. I'm not completely had it with the spam. I don't get that many. Around 20 to 30 hits a day which I've kinda gotten used to deleting. On the otherhand, Avast's 80% to 90% or so detection rate doesn't seem too bad, but I hear AntiVir has a detection rate of around 90% to 95%. Which wouild u say is the best choice?
Suggestions on email program and anti-virus app combo.......?
I strongly recommend Thunderbird over Outlook.

According to http://www.av-comparatives.org/

Avast! scored Advance for both On-Demand and Retrospective tests while AntiVir scored Advance+ (not Avance) on the On-Demand, and Standard on the Restrospective tests (Standard because it detected too many false positives, if it wasn't for that, it would have gotten higher).

It's true AntiVir has a higher detection rate, but it does detect a higher level of false positives than avast! so I recommend AntiVir for advance users (if you're an advance user and want to replace avast! with AntiVir, then by all means go for it).

Even though AntiVir doesn't have a mail scanner, it does have the main resident protection which will still detect any virus or other malware when you open up those emails.
Reply:Dunno, but Yahoo mail has SpamGuard Plus, and it scans emails.
Reply:Antivir is better. But does not scan e-mail. I like Trendmicro Antispam pilot for spam. It is very accurate but hard to find as they don't like giving it away anymore.

When I once signed up on "live mail"(a microsoft program), I only had to write my name and email adresse, and that's it.

My email program suddenly fails to connect to the ymail pop and smtp servers. No error just doesn't connect.?

I am using the OSX mail program and it has connected to the ymail servers perfectly since I got my ymail address (1 or 2 months). All the pop %26amp; smtp settings are correct, I am using SSL and the correct ports but it still won't receive or send mail. I have checked the passwords are correct and I can login to the webmail site. Do they have a server problem? The mail connection doctor which comes with the OS cannot connect either.

Any ideas?

The picture that you're being sent may not be in a format that windows can handle.

Save the file to your hard disk and try to preview it in the the picture and fax viewer.

If is says that it can't be opened you could try and download photoshop album starter edition free from the adobe website.

Have a look at the link below.

Hope this helps you

You can get a daily view of your calendar by email on days when you have events and tasks scheduled. You can also set the program to send you reminders a certain number of hours or days before an event, or before a task is due.

The To-Do Bar also connects tasks you may have stored in other Microsoft Office programs like Project, OneNote, and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services technology. How to send MS office files from within the program itself using yahoo email instead of Outlook ?
I tried to do this before I responded. It seems that when using MS Office it automatically defaults to Outlook. This is because Outlook is the only e-mail program built into Office itself. However you can change your default e-mail program by going to Control Panel. Select Internet Options. Click the programs tab and under e-mail select Yahoo Mail. Once you save the file you can then right click the file and select E-Mail with Yahoo. This is the only solution I can come up with.

I hope this helps some although I know it is not exactly what you are looking for.

Where do I find Yahoo! email program ?

Where do I find Yahoo! email program so I can enable Yahoo! mail as default email application? (so when I click on underlinded email address it opens Yahoo! mail automatically)

Thanks in advance
Where do I find Yahoo! email program ?
To set yahoo as your default mail you have to start your Internet explorer, then from the menu select tools - Internet options - programs tab - E-mail and then you will get a pull down menu, select "Yahoo! Internet mail" then press apply button at the bottom right of the dialog window. This should invoke yahoo mail every time you hit an e-mail ink. Hope this helps.
Reply:You could request Yahoo! Mail Beta from the link @ http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/mail... After you request, you will have to wait for approval. Once approved, you will get a mail notification in your current Yahoo! Mail and you go click on 'Option', and you will see a purple tag which says 'Accept Beta Version'. Click on that and you will get your Yahoo! Mail Beta.

That message is both a fake and an outright fraud. Don't give the phishers any of your personal information at all. Spam that scam message straight into oblivion right away. This is one lottery you'll never win because it's "bogus."

Another thing, the phishers telling you to "keep this lottery information confidential" would indicate to you not to say anything about this to anybody until they have finished scamming you.

Best email program/website/ whatever?
I think the best email program out there best far is Gmail, even though it's the newbie on the block you don't have to permanently delete anything it's stored until you want to.

As far as websites there are so many out there, I would have to say Cnet, Google and MSNBC.

Seriousley.... Is there any way or program to crack email passwords (yahoo, hotmail etc..) ?

I have read all the phony ways online but just wondering if someone is able to get into your email without putting a keylogger on your PC. I mean what would they have to go thru to get into your email account??
Seriousley.... Is there any way or program to crack email passwords (yahoo, hotmail etc..) ?
Hackers have used automated means to enter password protected areas for as long as there have been passwords. Some of these are very elaborate.

The basic method these days is to web search the individual and gather information about the user and then use automated means to suggest word most likely to be used.

The single most reason for most on-line accounts to be entered by others, however is someone has either seen the password entered or found it written down.
Reply:Alot. they would try obvious things first like birthdates, but hopefully you have got a strong password. there is no program.

Form letter email program?

Here's what I'm looking for:

I want to have a list of my students and their parents' email addresses (preferrably loaded from an excel document) and have a button next to each name that I can click to have a form email sent out informing them that the homework wasn't complete.

I know basic webpage authoring, a little javascipt, and a little more flash - but was hoping someone would have a starting point so I didn't have to do this from scratch.

I'm not even sure how to start.
Form letter email program?
I can't verify that it's any good, but there's a Youtube video explaining how to set up an email merge using Word and Outlook at http://www.youtube.com/watch%3fv=IjpCMCK...

If you're not using Outlook, you just need to review your email program's documentation on mailing lists. You need a field in your address book that allows you to select which addresses are to be included (if you can't create a custom field, you can jjust use a field that you don't usually update (like Country or Fax Number 2 or the like) and put in Yes or No) then set up your mailing list to only send to those you want.

There should be no programming involved. If you put down what email program you use, you can probably get more specific answers.
Reply:Javascript and flash actionScript both have to stay in the sandbox we call the Web Browser. A web browser can't read or write files. Email is really a server-side thing. Java gives you full command, but you ask for a custom program that might take a year to write.

MSOffice Suite Pro does offer macros that would let you tie a spreadsheet (that has buttons) to a form letter template within MSWord. Then you would click the Email button in Word. Maybe the macro can transit over all that to make a single button.

Outlook Express, there is also a book on that software (did you know it has a calendar?).

OReilly's JavaScript Cookbook had a postcard program.

Faced with your problem, I would wander down to a bookstore and look for MSOffice automation books, looking in the indexes and also the OReilly books.

the form letter is NO problem in javascript. Loading the data from a file located on your hard drive is the trick.

google -- javascript: email

Best of luck. I'm goofing off from a java project answering this. What you want to do is an off-the-shelf project.

Does yahoo mail have a program that will allow you to recall sent email?
once the mail is sent it is gone...you could however go to your sent items folder, change the date and resend...I believe that is your only option.
Reply:To my knowledge is doesn't

Just send another one by

clicking sent on the left hand side in your yahoo mail account then click the mail you wanted to edit and just retype the date and send it
Reply:just click on sent on your mail page it will show you all that you have sent out

2-Has pop access

I am in the Engineering field so any "techie" e-mail or nerdy e-mail would suit me just fine!!

Any suggests??

You may possibly have a corrupt cache file -- it makes all KINDS of things go wonky. Try this: clear your history, temporary files (these will take a while!) %26amp; cookies, restart the computer and retry. Here is the HELP link for how to do this in different browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya...

Use Microsoft Mail if you use vista, it should already be installed. Otherwise you could use Outlook Express, it is also already installed.

If you dont know how to use it, just create a gmail account and check your mails online.

Can someone define Email-program ?

A program that abstracts the inner workings of POP3 and SMTP to allow users to easily send and receive messages, called "emails", to each other.
Can someone define Email-program ?
That kind of depends upon where you're talking about.

There is the email program that resides on an server, which basically takes the emails that folks want to email and sends it to the appropriate locations. This is typically an SMTP/POP3 server.

Then there is the email program that resides on your PC/Workstation, which is used to communicate with the SMTP/POP3 server. It tells that server to send a message.

How do I make Yahoo my default program for Email?

.

Hello

Designating Yahoo! Mail as the default is easy to do. Begin by downloading and installing Yahoo! Instant Messenger http://messenger.yahoo.com

Once installed, Yahoo! Mail can be chosen. From the Internet Explorer menu click "Tools", click "Internet Options", click "Programs", select Yahoo! Mail.

Reply:I don't think you can, because it's not an actual program but a website. You can forward your yahoo mails to a program like windows live mail, which you can then set as your default email program.
Reply:Easy avoid outlook 2007/outlook express and every other email programme out there , stay with yahoo with everything , and by doing this you will be making all your contacts with their mail to you at Yahoo.

IE7 Will not let me choose Yahoo as my Email program.?

I have checked in Tools - Internet options - Programs, but it does not even list Yahoo as an option. Can anyone tell me why and how to fix it?
IE7 Will not let me choose Yahoo as my Email program.?
Just a little advice about IE7. Its the most lousy programme that Microsoft has produced in the recent years. Just chuck it from your system.
Reply:you can uninstall it or keep it, it's up to you. Whatever you choose will not change the situation.

Yahoo is an internet based email service, meaning the entire program construct is in cyberspace. Even with the new Yahoo! Mail program installed (which is actually just a code converter for changing the presentation and interpretation of the internet construct), you will likely never get any internet browser to recognise Yahoo as your exclusive choice of email program. The same can be said for your operating system, MS Outlook, and all other non-Yahoo! products and services.

However, you may notice that Yahoo have become very efficient at intergrating each of the products and services they offer with each other, including this 1. From here I can access any Web Yahoo! service in 2 clicks of the mouse or less.
Reply:IE 7 stinks either uninstall and roll back to IE 6 Or get firefox its way better

Time warp email program...?

So I pick up this weird program, XP compatible no less, and it's an email program that allows me to email myself in the past. For example, the other day, I emailed myself 2 years in the past, before I made that crazy decision to lite a telephone pole on fire to see how it burned. The instant I did, I found myself with an extra ten grand in the bank.

I'm thinking of things that I can email my past self that will increase my postion today.

So I'm asking you, if you had this program (which you never will!), what would you email yourself?
Time warp email program...?
I would have emailed myself to not read your question.

Email program on mac..?

Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be delivered.

Help?
Email program on mac..?
I just checked my preferences since I have a Mac and Comcast. It shows smtp.comcast.net and port 25 on mine, too. Go into your preferences in Mail and make sure that you have a POP account, look under server settings and see if you have any type of authentication checked. Mine is not checked.

You might need to do a software update on your Macbook. Sometimes they issue an update after the software is loaded on your computer.

Before doing any updates, go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and run the Repair Permissions program. This should be done at least once a month to keep everything where it belongs. After that for system preferences (located on your dock) and run Software Update.

This might solve all your problems, but if not, call Apple and they will walk you through what needs to be done.
Reply:go to comcast and ask them the server it's supposed to be on... mine is smtp.gmail.com and it before said smtp.google.com... maybe urs is something like smtp.com.com? lol idk ask them.
Reply:I had this problem too. it got too annoying so i just ignored it.

for me though, it only happened with a couple of my emails. Try calling the customer support line if it really bothers you.

Yes, certainly. My favorite for PC is Thunderbird.

5. On Message Rules window Click New button on the right.

6. On first point "Select the Conditions for your rules" : Select "Where the To or CC line contains people"

7. On the second point "Select the Actions for your rule" : Select "Move it to the specified folder".

8. On the third point "Rule Description" : Click Contains People and type your email address (example: info@demo.com) and click the Add button on the select people window which is just opend after clicking the contains people. Then Click OK.

9. Now Click the Specified option on the same third point. And Select the folder (example: Info) which you have created into Inbox in the Move window and Click OK.

10. Click OK

Personally, I like Yahoo! because I dislike (in principle) AOL. When I canceled them as my Internet provider, it took FOREVER, and I've heard sooooo many horror stories (but, those are about internet not email).

pop3 access from what i know is only available for plus users, however according to lifehacker you can use it for free now with outlook, thunderbird or any other mail clients.

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)

POP SSL required? Yes

User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com

Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live

SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25)

Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)

TLS/SSL required? Yes

those are the recommended settings. give it a shot.

However, a good email program, should not be difficult to set-up and the email program should have a good spam filter.

My favorite is Mozilla Thunderbird, it is fully feature, secure and have a RDD feed reader. Mozilla is beautiful and easy to handle. Mozilla filters the junk mail too.

Here some free other one that I think is better than outlook :

1. Mozilla thunderbird of course

2. Opera

3. Mulberry

But you as an administrator, should know that. A simple policy on each computer can prevent the installation of spying software.

You don't need to know their carrier or anything. Best part is that it is free, for you and the person receiving the TXT msg. Peekamo uses SMPP not SMTP. Yahoo, MSN and others uses SMTP! With Peekamo, you don't have to worry about spam either. You can create groups too. I'm from Canada where if you don't have a plan, TXT messages to the US can cost upto 15cents! Is there a program that will allow me to enter an email address and see what sites it has been used on?

No I don't think so, I've tried looking for one so I can find out old passwords and what sites I've signed up for, just in case there's something there. But alas.

No.....why would you need to? Assuming its your email address, you already know what sites you have used it on.

Is it possible to put pictures that have been sent to your email add. on a cd? If so, what program do you need

my friend has been sent family pics via email, and wants to make a cd of them so she can send it to her sister who doesn't have internet access. Any help is appreciated as to what programs or whatever are needed to do this. the sister only has a cd drive in an old pc. P.S Can the pics be printed from the email? If so, that may be an easier option to send them! Thanks, Silverdragon.
Is it possible to put pictures that have been sent to your email add. on a cd? If so, what program do you need
You could do it either way really. Steps to follow.

1. Open the email.

2. Right click on the picture file.

3. From the drop down menu, choose Save As.

4. Choose the destination for the picture file (My Documents is probably best for an inexperienced computer user).

5. Open Windows Explorer.

If you do not know how to use Windows Explorer, follow the steps below. If you do, skip to 6.

-Right click on the Start Menu.

-Select Explore.

-Locate the My Documents folder and click it.

-You should see your picture file in this folder.

6. Right click on the picture file and select 'Open With...' (This action should list your main picture viewing applications.)

7. If you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager, select that program. (It's a simple program that is fairly intuitive to work with.) If you do not have that program, you will need to explore your other options. You can always use Paint, but I've had issues with it effecting colors before, so it would be preferable to work with something else.

8. Click 'File' in the menu options at the top of the program's window.

9. Click 'Print' from the drop down menu.

10. Repeat the process for each picture.

If you want to create that CD, follow steps 1-5. Then proceed as follows:

6. Insert a blank CD-R in a CD-R drive. If you are operating on Windows XP or Wndows Vista, you will not require additional software to copy your files.

7. Using Windows Explorer, right click the picture file you want to put on the CD-R.

8. Select Copy from the drop down.

9. On the left side of the screen, scroll down and locate the CD-R drive. (Should probably be D: or E:)

10. Right click on the drive and select 'Paste' from the drop down menu.

11. Repeat steps 7-10 for each picture. Once you have all your pictures, proceed to step 12.

12. Right-click the CD-R drive and select Burn to Disk.

Your files should copy without issues. If you are using an older operating system, you need to provide more details. What operating system do you have and what CD Burner software do you have. Hopefully this information will help you out. I know how frustrating it can be to do simple things when you don't know your way around the computer. I've worked with lots of friends on these simple tasks. Every time Microsoft reinvents the wheel we have to start over. So good luck!
Reply:Just right click directly on the pictures and save them to your computor. You should be able to then save them to a disc pretty easily without any special program at all. Just save them into MyPictures and then save them on a CD just like any other file.
Reply:well if she just has a CD-ROM and not a CD-RW, then don't even think about burning them. But you should be able to either download the images (if they were sent as an attachment) or right-click and Save Image As.. (if they were embedded to the email). Once you've gotten all of your images, you can just print them by right-clicking the saved image and clicking Print.

I want to send someone the installation setup of a program through email, how would i do that?

Right-click the .exe file you wish to send, choose send to%26gt;.zip/compressed folder, when the .zip folder has been created name it whatever you wish. Open your email client and type your message then click attach file, browse to the location of the .zip folder you just created and choose open, this will insert that file into your email message as an attachment. Your friend will then be able to downlad and save the file to their computer until they choose to unzip and install it.

Are email programs such as gmail and yahoo mail secure?

I worry that someone will be able to access my calendar, contacts, notes, etc. How secure is this type of email program versus using Outlook (PC) or Entourage (Mac) that resides on your computer? I have firewalls that help secure those programs from hackers but I worry about information floating around in cyberspace.

For the most part, third party or web based mail clients are just as safe as Outlook or Outlook Express, etc. It's all about what you do and do not click on.

Any program which can record in the .wav format will be fine. Depending on which version of Windows you have, there should be a program called sound recorder somewhere in the start menu. Alternatively you could use a open source/free program called Audacity. This can be found here:

Need to break up a avi file and send it by email on a mac, whats the best program to do this?
VirtualDub is great for this. You open the AVI with it and then select the "in" and "out" points using the time bar and/or buttons on the bottom. Use this to export the video as smaller chunks of data. Remember, AVIs are edited based on what's called a "keyframe" - one frame of film that the frames that come before and after are based on during in encoding. You can get VirtualDub here: http://www.virtualdub.org/ . I don't know if it will work on a Mac, but there's nothing on the downloads page that says it can't, so you might as well give it a shot. Hope it works out!

EDIT: VirtualDub can cut video up based on time, but not based on resultant file size, so you'll have to experiment with how much time = file size. VirtualDub can also re-encode the video in a smaller resolution or in a less-precise format, and this can help you save on file size, but the cutting-up method is easier to get the hang of if you're new to video editing. Also, here's the Wikipedia page on keyframes, which explains them better than I do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyframe

Gmail is also pretty good, because it automatically saves drafts.

Both of these email services can be used in the web browser. External email programs are becoming somewhat obsolete these days. I tried using Mozilla Thunderbird, but Yahoo and Google blocked it. It worked half the time and didn't have the functionality that I wanted.

The web browser is becoming very capable, although you might want to watch your internet security if you send "sensitive" emails. I think Mozilla Thunderbird supported an encryption feature, which seemed cool, but the program was a hassle to use in general. I'm staying with Yahoo and Gmail.

Reply:The Yahoo! Default Email Application is a small 60KB download that allows you to set Yahoo! Mail as your default email application in Microsoft Windows. For example, in Internet Explorer it lets you access your Yahoo! Mail account from any email link on a web page, as well as from the "File/Send" menu or the "Mail" button on the IE toolbar. It also allows you to send a file using Yahoo! Mail directly from Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It's perfect for Yahoo! Mail power users who would like easier access to their Yahoo! Mail accounts.

Mail the default email application for your computer, click Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Programs tab (or Tools %26gt; Internet Options %26gt; Programs tab) %26gt; under E-mail click the down arrow and select Yahoo! Mail %26gt; click Apply and OK. If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as an option, follow the directions below.

Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP

Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher

If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as a default email option, and if for some reason the above answer doesn't work, installing Yahoo! Messenger (install everything that comes with it, don't un-check anything), will also add Yahoo! Mail to the list of email options, and if you don't want it, uninstall it ( it will leave Yahoo! as an email option ).
